1984 Opel Kadett D GTE Rally Car, Red

A rare and characterful historic rally car based on the Kadett D GTE, finished in bright red with white and black Opel Motorsport-style graphics. It has been competing in historic and club stage rallies for the past four seasons, earning a reputation as a reliable, well-balanced and great-sounding front-wheel-drive car. It was fully refreshed over the winter and is ready for the new season.

Engine: 1.8-litre Opel 18E SOHC four-cylinder, built to rally specification with a fast-road cam, a ported and gas-flowed head, twin 45 DCOE Weber carburettors and a four-branch manifold with a full rally exhaust, producing around 165bhp, with 16 hours since a rebuild

Transmission: Five-speed manual with a close-ratio gearset, a plated limited-slip differential, an uprated sintered clutch, a lightened flywheel and reinforced driveshafts

Suspension and brakes: Adjustable gravel and tarmac dampers with uprated springs, polybushed throughout, adjustable top mounts and anti-roll bars, and four-pot front calipers on vented discs, with uprated rear brakes, a bias valve and a hydraulic handbrake

Bodyshell and safety: Seam-welded shell with a multipoint roll cage to Motorsport UK regulations, two in-date FIA bucket seats and harnesses, a plumbed-in extinguisher, a master kill switch, an alloy sump guard and a fuel tank guard
